Yes the "New" Hummingbird
is back and ready for play at Wild
Wing Plantation! Some of you may not be aware
of the major changes going on at Wild Wing so here is the short story;
The Falcon, 16 holes of Wood Stork and 11 of the Hummingbird have been
closed, forever, to make room for very pretty new homes and townhouses.
But, praise the lord, rising from the dust of yet another real estate stampede
was not a Phoenix but a New Hummingbird. This is no ordinary Hummingbird
this is a sleek compact version with the handling of a Porsche and the
utility of a Hummer. This Hummingbird is for everybody!
Sneaking out under the nose of my boss, (we recommend this)
with the guise of performing some charity work, I managed to get in a quick
play and the Hummingbird is all about a quick play, it is now 9 holes.
This is novelty in Myrtle Beach since there are no, for fee, 9-hole
regulation courses! You can just go there and play 9 holes. Now this
is no ordinary run of the mill par 3 or executive course, this is a par
35-regulation course, bring your driver, and bring all you clubs. There
are 2 par *5s, 4 par 4s, and 3 par 3's
But wait there is more. The course is the only course where
beginners and juniors can play a regulation course with multiple t-boxes
set-up for your skill level. This will be a fantastic place for avid
golfers to get out with their kids or a spouse that only wants to play
a little and avoid the little putt-putt par 3 courses.
But wait there's more. Is your
plane leaving too soon for you to play 36 but you don't want to sit around
and wait. No problem, now you can schedule 27 holes without the expense
of paying for 36 that you can't finish anyway. Go ahead, schedule
27 and remember your only 10 minutes from the airport!
