Many of our long time customers will remember this gem of a course under it's former name Colonial Charters. The old course has been closed for the past two years or so, and has undergone a complete renovation.
The greens were seeded with bent grass such that optimum conditions are attainable from the start. To date the course has been seeded with winter rye grass, to offer the best playing conditions for our winter and spring golfers. You can expect lush winter rye throughout the spring season. After the spring season, the course will close for the summer such that Bermuda grass fairways, tees and rough can be grown in. Palmetto Greens plans to open up again in September for fall play.
This is a somewhat different approach, but enables play for the spring season. Believe it or not, this is what Augusta National does every year. That is why it is so lush green during the winter and spring.
For those that are interested, Palmetto Greens is owned by the company that also owns
Carolina Shores. We have a great rate on both of them if you decide to play them both on your next trip.
Be sure to ask us about the course for more information.
