One of the newest additions to the team of Golfmasters, Golfmaster Parker brings some youth to the organization to complement Golfmaster Jim’s wealth of experience and knowledge. Originally from the Boston area, Golfmaster Parker came to college in South Carolina, liked the climate and the weather and stayed. It didn’t hurt that he married a Myrtle Beach girl in the process. The combination of great golf and weather make South Carolina an ideal location for your next golf vacation.
Prior to arriving in South Carolina, Golfmaster Parker’s golf game consisted of an adapted slapshot, from all those years playing Ice Hockey. After 12 years the slapshot is now starting to wear off and a decent golf game sometimes shows through. Parker hopes to make a break through in the near future. He almost did on a Golfmaster Golf Trek outing on Pinehurst #4 this summer. With a lot of practice and 150+ rounds a year at some superior Grand Strand courses this year will hopefully get him into the 70’s. He’s got to keep at it…if these plans don’t work…then He’ll have to keep testing the product until he get there.
Prior to coming on board with Golf Trek, Golfmaster Parker traveled extensively throughout the USA, working for a technology company. More likely than not, he’s spent some time in your neck of the woods, and may have even played some of your local courses.
Golfmaster Parker has been on many golf outings himself, and knows what to recommend and what to watch out for. He is especially helpful in separating the hype from the best values in both lodging and golf courses. As a lad, at age 5, I started chasing the ball and I've been at it ever since. I played junior golf, golf in high school and college. I carried a zero handicap for years and now with a tempermental back, play to a 5 handicap. I've played golf all over the US and go out on packages to various locations several times a year.
Further, I sneak out and play lots of golf on the Grand Strand... will probably get to 170 rounds this year. I wish I could play more. I can remember playing and walking 54 to 63 holes per day - swept the dew in the morning and brought the flags in when I quit.
I've met a lot of fine people in my golfing life. Year after year since 1979, I've booked tens of thousands of packages for many golfers who've become my friends.

In Myrtle Beach, you have many factors to consider in choosing the company or person who you will work with in planning your golf vacation. In my 25+ years at the beach, I've found the following:
- 95% of the people want to book their own rooms. Golf is an after thought. They don't have a clue.
- Conflicts of interest abound as many lodging properties own golf courses and vice versa. Guess which courses you'll be playing ???
- Booking agents outside of Myrtle Beach may only be able to book at a limited number of courses.
- Booking agents / travel agents come and go (out of business). Quite a few have gone bankrupt in the highly competitive Myrtle Beach golf market -- OOPS! There goes your money and your trip.
- 40% of the accommodation properties at the beach are substandard.
- Lower priced packages normally are less because of substandard accommodations and poor conditioned courses.

Hello from "GolfMaster Jerry". My goal is to provide you with the golf knowledge that you need to plan the absolute best golf package customized to match your specific requirements and budget. Local golf knowledge is the key here. Greens and how they putt are my specialty. Knowing the roll and speed of Bermuda, bent, champions, tif eagle, tif dwarf and Jensen greens is a challenge you all will experience at a variety of courses on the Grand Strand. Each type of grass has a different blade. I learned to play the game we love chasing the small ball in Jamaica.
I was in the hospitality industry and provided golf privileges for our customers at a variety of courses on the island. My first course was the Manchester Country Club in Mandeville, Jamaica. I was able to play most of the courses on the island and especially enjoyed the Caymanas Club, Constant Springs Club, Liguanea Club, Runaway Bay Country Club and Tryall Golf Club. My seven years in Jamaica were great golfing years. I developed quite a love for the sport and as they say "the worst day at the course beats the best day at the office". Consequently, I found myself more and more on the course and less and less at our hotel property. It's like being a golfmaster at Golf Trek... someone has to do it.
Originally from San Diego, as a youth I moved throughout the US due to my father's military career. We lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, and Texas. I finished up in high school in Southern California where my initial interest in golf was formed. After college, I had careers in data processing, utility management, retail and the hospitality industry. I am now retired and looking forward to becoming a part of the Golf Trek team of GolfMasters.

Hi, my name is Golfmaster Buddy. I am a lifelong resident of the area. I've seen a lot of changes in the golf community over the past 40 years. One of my claims to fame is that I am one of the few people who have played all the local courses on the Grand Strand (well maybe their is a couple of the new private courses I haven't played).
I've also sold commercial real estate for 25 years, I've been playing golf a couple of times a week with Golfmaster Jim for the past 25 years (lots of golf course knowledge).

What
should you know about me? I lived the majority of my life in central
and northwestern New Jersey. Prior to my relocating to Myrtle Beach
many years ago, I lived and worked in the northeastern part of
Pennsylvania for 13 years. Between high school graduation and obtaining
my college degree, I spent four years in the US Air Force.
Before
moving to Myrtle Beach, I'd make road trips 3-4 times a year to Myrtle
for many years testing out the golf courses, restaurants and other
activities. Now, as a "local", I play about 175 rounds a year. I even
carded my only "hole-in-one" here in Myrtle Beach.
My golfing
experiences go back some 30+ years. Also, in my prior "corporate life"
I had the luxury of traveling on business (with my clubs of course) and
I can honestly say that I have played golf around the country
(Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest, West, and upper
Mid-America). I've experienced all levels of courses (5 star down to 1
star). Since I've played all of the public and resort courses in the
Myrtle Beach area many, many times, I feel very confident that by using
my first hand knowledge of the courses, I can help you create a very
enjoyable golf experience on the Grand Strand.
I keep up to
date regarding course conditions through my playing, personal
relationships and a trustworthy network of golfing buddies. Local and
up-to-date knowledge is key when putting together a customized package.
