Great Winter deals at Tilghman Golf Resort

Now through March 1st, you can get a great deal on 3 BR condos at Tilghman Golf Resort.  This is one of Myrtle Beach’s premier lodging destinations.  You have your choice of looking out over one of the areas best myrtle beach golf courses in the surf club, or out over the beautiful Atlantic ocean.  These prices can’t be beat for ocean front accomodations.

Each 3 BR unit is set up with 1 King bed and 3 Queen beds.  They each have 3 full bathrooms as well.  If you are considering a Myrtle Beach Golf trip this winter this a property worthy of consideration.  In addition to full amenities they have worked out a deal to get a full breakfast at a restaurant conveniently located near the hotel.

Here are some pictures to give you a better idea.

121 Holes of Myrtle Beach in 4 Days

This past weekend, I had my best childhood friends down from Boston for a golf bender. They left Boston on Spirit Air at the crack of dawn and were on the ground ready for some golf by 730 AM Friday morning. Now that is a flight that is tough to beat!

We stayed in fabulous brand new condos at Crow Creek Villas and were able to drop off our gear prior to our 1st round.

Here was the schedule for the weekend

Friday Aberdeen
Saturday AM Barefoot Fazio
Saturday PM Barefoot Norman
Sunday AM Sea Trail Maples
Sunday PM Sea Trail Byrd
Monday AM Pearl East
Monday PM Pearl West
Fly Home

What a weekend. While the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida challenged us the 1st two days, we were rewarded with mid 70’s and sunny for the last two days.

Here are some action videos from the weekend. You can beat the ease of getting to Myrtle Beach, the quality of the golf courses in myrtle beach, and the price.

Springmaid Beach Resort Upgrades

Springmaid Beach Resort has undergone a number of improvements over the past year.  We think the improvement make it that much more attractive to the Myrtle Beach Golfer.

Room improvements—during 2009, 95% of the rooms have received fresh paint and flat screen televisions, as well as the installation of free wireless in all rooms.

Hospitality Suites—Springmaid offers extra large rooms that can be used for small meetings or gatherings. Groups of 15+ rooms will automatically get one upgrade to a suite, based on availability.

Larger Units—we have a limited number of two-bedroom (three beds) and three-bedroom units (5 beds), as well as a Beach House (five beds) that offers five bedrooms, living/dining area, full kitchen, two baths, and an enclosed patio with a gas grill. All of these units are priced and sold based on availability and occupancy.

Bar Area—A small bar/lounge area has been added to Springmaid Pier Café. Beer, wine & liquor are available as well as two flat screen TVs. Continued improvements to the Cafe are planned.

North Myrtle Beach and Brunswick county lodging

As many of our clients know, we at Golf Trek suggest many of the “Northern” Courses in Brunswick County North Carolina, for the tremendous value and quality of the golf and lodging.

Well taking our own advice, I was able to convince my wife to accompany me to visit”The Winds” Resort Beach Club on Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina. The Winds Resort is about an hour drive from Myrtle Beach, and from Mid - March till October this Resort gives you the feeling that you are on a tropical Isle in the Caribbean. Tropical plants abound, the beach is wide, the sand is white and the crowds are thin.

As a visitor there we experienced a very helpful staff, clean rooms and an excellent “Deluxe Continental Breakfast” served daily from 6 to 10 AM. If you bring along your computer they have WIFI. Each Bedroom has 2 Queen Beds and daily housekeeping is provided.

The resort is in an excellent location near many of my favorite Myrtle Beach Golf Courses including The Thistle, The Pearls East & West, Lockwood Folly, and Sandpiper Bay just to name a few.

There are also several great places to eat in the area, so after a enjoyable round of golf you can then freshen up back at The Winds and then get out to dine.

Our take on this. YES - “Go North Young Man” Take advantage of some great courses at excellent prices!

Golfmaster John highly recommends a Stay and Play package on Ocean Isle in Brunswick County, NC
