Terry Richardson Group from Canada enjoys Myrtle Beach Golf Package

Here is one of the best looking golf groups, I’ve seen in a while.  The Richardson group comes down from Nova Scotia every April to kick off their golf season.  This past year they had 16 guys.  They stayed on the North end of Myrtle Beach, in some of the best Myrtle Beach Condos the area offers.

They played a total of 5 rounds oat some of the best myrtle beach golf courses.  The Courses included Sandpiper Bay, River Hills, Crow Creek, Eagle Next and the Private Founders Club at St. James plantation.  A good time was had by all, and they hope to be back next spring as well.  Before you know it, it will be here.

Last golf hole of the year for Bostonian

We overestimated this Boston area golfer.  Making the assumption that playing golf in November was his last round of the year.  To our surprise he’s sneaking away to Florida over Thanksgiving to get some extra rounds in.  He’s got to love his new in laws and their dedication to his craft.

None the less, this dedicated golfer was able to cram in 36 holes a day for 4 straight days…being the 1st on the tee and last to leave the course.  Talk about a die hard golfer…

He’s planning on another spring or summer golf package to Myrtle Beach to satisfy his golf cravings.

Barefoot Norman escape shot

Back nine at the Barefoot Resort Norman Course.  This is a par 5 escape shot.  Todd being a 6 handicap makes it look easy.  He took our money all weekend.  He probably needed an adjustment on his handicap when he came out of the gate shooting back to back 74’s.

The norman course at Barefoot has some great holes playing along the inland waterway on the back nine.  We found the back nine to rival any of the other Barefoot courses, or any other Myrtle Beach Golf Course for that matter.  The elevation changes on the back side make it lots of fun.

Bent Grass greens were in perfect shape, and great to putt on this time of year as it prefers the cool weather.

121 Holes of Myrtle Beach in 4 Days

This past weekend, I had my best childhood friends down from Boston for a golf bender. They left Boston on Spirit Air at the crack of dawn and were on the ground ready for some golf by 730 AM Friday morning. Now that is a flight that is tough to beat!

We stayed in fabulous brand new condos at Crow Creek Villas and were able to drop off our gear prior to our 1st round.

Here was the schedule for the weekend

Friday Aberdeen
Saturday AM Barefoot Fazio
Saturday PM Barefoot Norman
Sunday AM Sea Trail Maples
Sunday PM Sea Trail Byrd
Monday AM Pearl East
Monday PM Pearl West
Fly Home

What a weekend. While the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida challenged us the 1st two days, we were rewarded with mid 70’s and sunny for the last two days.

Here are some action videos from the weekend. You can beat the ease of getting to Myrtle Beach, the quality of the golf courses in myrtle beach, and the price.

Golf Trek Group records hole in One

Golf Trek is happy to report that one of our customers recorded a hole in one this past week on one of our fine Myrtle Beach Golf Courses.  Rich Meier of Downington Pennsylvania recorded a hole in one on Tuesday October 13th, 2009 at Prestwick Country Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

While Golf Trek can’t promise every group that comes to Myrtle Beach on a golf package makes a hole in one, we certainly like to promote groups that do have the fortune of doing so.  Rich’s playing partner Paul Maurer described the shot as “chubby”, but it went in the hole, so it obviously wasn’t all that bad!

Here are the stats and a picture of the signature hole at Prestwick.
